The Archaeological Research Unit of the University of Cyprus presents a hybrid public lecture by Dr Diane Bolger (Research Fellow in Archaeology, University of Edinburgh, U.K.), titled “Figurines, fragmentation and social transformation in prehistoric Cyprus”, on Monday, 17 November 2025, from 7:45 PM to 9:15 PM, at the Old Campus, Amphitheatre E010, Kallipoleos Avenue, Nicosia, Cyprus. 🎟️ Free admission. The talk will examine how figurine fragmentation and burial practices during Cyprus’s Chalcolithic period relate to transformations in personal and social identity, particularly gender. Drawing on material from excavations in southwest Cyprus, the lecture sheds light on anthropomorphic figure traditions and how they shaped the growth of social complexity on the island.
