THE HOUSE

THE HOUSE is a production by GoDar Theatre Studio that represented Cyprus at the Avignon OFF International Theatre Festival in France, earning high praise from European critics and audiences. Here, Lorca is reimagined in the 1990s and told as a real soap opera — full of passion, intrigue and even commercial breaks. The audience feels as if they’re peeking into someone else’s life: at first, familiar, everyday and even funny. But gradually, the soap opera ends — and real life begins. The restrictions grow tighter, the emotions more dangerous, and an ordinary family story becomes a drama about freedom, love and the right to choose your own life. Missed THE HOUSE in Avignon? Now you have the chance to see it in Limassol, performed in English at the Pattihio Theatre. The production GoDar brought to European audiences returns to Cyprus. Don’t miss it. Take your seat — and peek in to find out how the story ends.
