----- 03.04.26 @ Dusty Munky ----- We're thrilled to announce the first edition of "Groove Affair" - going down in the heart of limassol, at one of our most beloved venues in the city - Dusty Munky. A party we're looking to host each quarter of the year. Having seen the scene here explode over the past few years. We felt obliged to make a contribution, specially as the love and culture of more Groove infused dancefloor music is still building here! So here we are - with the aim of inducing a Groove infused madness of a party. To help merge talent on our island with the scene outside and also to educate our scene here further on the side of the techno sphere that lies in the midsts of grooves. An aim to display and curate the side of the genre that stems from its influences in the blues, soul, funk & jazz realms of music. And the selection of our artists over the coming months will display our ethos and musical aesthetic in that regard. We'd like to build a thriving community over time and develop a community to offer back not only to the music scene but to the fabric of our city of Limassol. Where and when we can. And to our beloved island here in the heart of the Eastern side of the Mediterranean. ------------- It is with much pleasure - we hope!! For our first night - we present to you monsieur Dylan Fogarty! A heavyweight to say the least. I first discovered Dylan courtesy of his self released EP - "Tribal Misdemeanor". Needless to say - since I've been glued. Bringing a forge of groove infused music to ride the Fogarty wave. I strongly recommend listening to his set for Indigo Wax, a collective based out of Malta - ive probably listened to it 100 or so times at this point. A lesson in tension building and outright funk. Bringing the sauce proper straight outta Dublin, Ireland. Releases on Molekul Records, Raw, Frenzyl. Check his stuff out! If you don't know get to know. A proper OG producer. Always working on tunes and a gent to beat. Absolute privilege to have him come down here to strutt his stuff. 90s - 2000s swag for days. Relentless grooves with a holistic knowledge of the roots of the music - clearly represented in his sets. The first time I met Tomzy was at a Paphos Techno Blades event - Courtesy of them hosting us B2B. Back in 2022 I think or 2023. Given my freshness to the island I was thankful as hell to meet another groove conditioned techno head!! And meet a music minded brother with an affection for similar rooted sounds and level of appreciation for this end of the spectrum of dance music. It's been fantastic to see what he's been up to with the Selectech team and his works with Synesthesia collective . Keep pushing the grooves out here!! It's always a pleasure to watch your friends evolve musically and fine tune their sound. And there's few I'd trust more with such an occasion.
