Hiking at Kolympos tou Filaniou: Machairas 2026

Join a guided hiking trip in Machairas this March 2026 to Kolympos tou Filaniou, including monastery visit, picnic and transport from Nicosia. 🎟️ Participation fee: €20 per person (payment on the bus). The excursion includes a visit to Machairas Monastery, followed by a hike starting from the hideout of Grigoris Afxentiou. The route is 6.5 km (linear), lasting approximately 2–2.5 hours, with difficulty level 1–2. Highlights include the Pedieos River trail, the large wooden bridge built by the Forestry Department, Kolympos tou Filaniou natural lake (a former quarry), and the chapel of Agios Onoufrios. After the hike, participants will enjoy free time for a picnic (each person brings their own food) before returning to Nicosia around 16:00–16:30.
