This screening is part of the "Between Worlds" series, in collaboration with STYX Film Encounters, and coincides with the temporary exhibition "Christoforos Savva: Simple β Complicated β Invisible: An Unknown Archive".
The film, directed by and starring Sergei Bondarchuk, is based on a short story by Mikhail Sholokhov. It tells the story of a former Soviet soldier recounting his life before, during, and after World War II. Released in the post-Stalin era, it is a defining Soviet war drama that explores themes of survival, loss, and resilience.
The film will be screened in Russian with Greek and English subtitles.
